Early Days
Let's start at the beginning - I was born in Kansas City and grew up in suburban New Jersey. Played little league baseball and was active in Boy Scouts of America. My father worked at the United Nations in New York and eventually we found ourselves in Baghdad, Iraq where I graduated from high school as the only American kid. In the lead up to the Gulf War, my father was held hostage by Saddam Hussein and Kofi Annan secured his release.
Nation's Capital
I went to Washington DC for college to study international relations. After graduation I worked in corporate America and built up capacities across multiple sectors (tech, finance, energy, media). In my personal life, I got married and around the same time, the entrepreneurial bug hit me. I founded a strategic communications firm that pioneered individual reputation management. One year later, we ended up featured on the front page of The Washington Post.
Overseas Adventure
After many amazing years in Washington, my wife and I decided to explore one of the other 10,000 cities in the world. We headed to Doha, Qatar. I took over as CEO of a digital agency focused on the upcoming Qatar World Cup and she became a Dean at Georgetown University's campus in Qatar. The 2022 World Cup went on to become the most profitable ever and it was biggest event in history with Google, Instagram and Twitter breaking all-time traffic records and a whopping 1.5 billion people tuning in to watch the final match!!
Today, I oversee strategic communications for a higher ed marketing firm and I also advise organizations on reputation management and brand visibility.
Three Anecdotes
I rebutted Henry Kissinger in the Washington Post 🗞️, had my father's first official birthday 🎂 featured in The New York Times, and discovered a fist-sized meteorite in the desert 🐪 that turned out to be 4.65 billion years old, predating 🌍 earth.
